About the Firm

A Family Legacy
Built on Reinvention

The Lyons Family origin story began with Charles J. Lyons, Sr. immigrating to the United States in 1905, farming primarily in table grapes and raisins in Fresno, California beginning in 1908, and hog ranching in Santa Clarita, Buena Park, and El Centro beginning in 1931. Charles J. Lyons, Jr. “Charlie,” was born in Norwalk, California in 1929. He graduated USC Law in 1953 and became a serial entrepreneur who delved into law, movie production, farming, ranching, real estate development, and the golf club manufacturing business.

Charles J. Lyons, III “Chuckie” was born in 1954 in Los Angeles, California. Chuckie’s childhood included extensive time spent with his grandfather and father working part time on the ranch and farms. Chuckie graduated USC in 1977 with a B.S. in Finance with emphasis in real estate. He became an industrial real estate broker in 1978 and founded Lyons & Lyons Properties in 1979. He purchased his first industrial property investment in 1978.

In 1985 he completed his first “ground up” industrial development on a 3.5 acre industrial site in the City of Paramount with equity provided by his parents. In 1988 he completed his second ground up industrial development on an 11 acre site in the City of Paramount, again with equity provided by his parents. Beginning in 1988 he partnered with David Fu on developments in the cities of Paramount, Bellflower, Downey, and Torrance with equity provided by David Fu; South Gate with equity provided by the Lyons family; and Signal Hill with equal equity provided by David Fu and Chuckie Lyons.

The Lyons management portfolio currently consists solely of projects that were developed from the ground up by Chuckie Lyons & David Fu, with ownership held solely by the Lyons Family on five projects, ownership held solely by David Fu on one project, and a 50/50 partnership with Lyons & Fu on one project.
